BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Whittier College seeks an Assistant Men’s and Women’s Water Polo Coach, including Graduate Fellow Position.
Responsibilities include assisting the Water Polo programs in all aspect including, but not limited to, coaching and teaching athletes in the sports of water polo and swimming, strength training, recruiting prospective student athletes, practice planning, season planning, team management, travel coordination, equipment purchasing, and fundraising. The ideal commitment calls for 20-25+ hours a week, not including competition on weekends.
Acceptance into the Whittier College Graduate School is necessary for this position. Individuals must be interested in pursuing a California Teaching Credential (primary or Secondary) and Masters Degree in Education. Primary compensation for this position includes tuition remission (15,000-20,000 equivalent) for courses taken toward California Teaching Credential and Master’s degree in Education (two year program). Compensation also includes a small monthly stipend. Graduate Fellow responsibilities which include teaching activity courses in the Kinesiology and Leisure Science Department.
The department of Athletics and Kinesiology department will determine individuals overall fit for the position based upon GPA, previous experience as an athlete or coach, ability to teach classes, and ability to assist the head coach of aquatics.
