INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — In 2021, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) conducted a request for proposals for the officiating services program, including registration, education, assigning and payment services for selected NCAA championship officials. RefQuest (RQ+) was selected as the officiating services platform provider for the NCAA beginning Summer 2022. RQ+ will serve as the provider for five years, through August 31, 2027.
Beginning with the 2022-23 winter and 2023 spring sports, officials interested in becoming eligible to officiate selected NCAA winter or spring championships must register and complete eligibility requirements on the RQ+ platform. Rules tests, video content, background checks, digital rules books and case books and other sport-specific information also will be available on the RQ+ platform. There will be some overlap as the NCAA looks to make the transition as smooth as possible. Thus, the 2022 fall sports will continue to be on the ArbiterSports platform. However, moving forward all sports will be on the RQ+ platform.
As part of the NCAA’s commitment to the recruitment and retention of officials in all sports, it is anticipated the NCAA will expand the officiating services program to encompass all NCAA championships. To complement these recruitment and retention efforts, the registration fees for Division II and Division III officials in most sports will either be reduced or remain the same for the duration of the five-year contract with RQ+.
The RQ+ platform will be available to register 2022-23 winter and 2023 spring sport officials beginning Summer 2022.
