INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana — The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and Division III membership will vote on proposals this week at the NCAA Convention that could have impacts on men’s and/or women’s water polo programs at institutions that field the sport(s).
Division II delegates will vote on 18 proposals at their business session January 21 in Nashville, Tennessee. This year’s legislative slate features three proposals that could substantially change the way financial aid is calculated for Division II student-athletes. Other topics addressed in the proposed legislation include academic misconduct, independent athletics medical care and the structure of the nonchampionship segment in Division II sports.

Division III members will vote on nine proposals at the 2017 NCAA Convention next week in Nashville, Tennessee. Delegates will decide whether to implement a policy that ensures providers have autonomous, unchallengeable authority for medical decisions regarding student-athletes and whether graduate and post-baccalaureate students with remaining eligibility will be able to compete at the school of their choice, among other proposals.
