BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Haley Wan (Jr., Irvine, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic) of No. 10-ranked Princeton University tallied 12 goals, three assists and four steals in a 3-1 weekend for the Tigers at the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunner Invitational to earn recognition as the March 20 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Player of the Week.
A two-time Player of the Week selection after previously earning the February 15, 2016 award, she opened the tournament by netting a pair of goals, including the game-winner with 3:09 on the clock, to go along with two steals in a 5-4 defeat of No. 12 San Diego State University. She added a hat-trick with an assist and a steal in a 7-6 loss to No. 6 Arizona State University prior to registering four goals, an assist and a steal in a 7-3 defeat of the host Roadrunners.
In the weekend finale against California State University-East Bay, she netted three goals with an assist to power Princeton to an 11-8 victory. Overall, Wan posted back-to-back-to-back hat-tricks over the Tigers’ final three games at the event.
The honor marks her third weekly nod from the league office as she earned a share of the May 11, 2015 Rookie of the Week award as a freshman.
