BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Defending National Champion the University of Southern California remains the undisputed top team in the country as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2019 Week 10/March 27 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top 10 and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.

Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (Division III), the University of Michigan (CWPA Top 10) and Macalester College (CWPA Division III Top Five) also retain No. 1 status in their respective rankings.

Voted on by a panel of coaches from the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), the Golden Coast Conference, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Big West Conference, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the CWPA based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls are compiled and released on Wednesday during the season through the week following the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship.

2019 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 10/March 27)

The University of Southern California, which captured the 2018 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship, retains the title of top-ranked team in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.

USC (100 points) leads at Top 25 which experiences no changes among the Top 11 teams as Stanford University (96 points), the University of California-Los Angeles (92 points), the University of California (88 points), the University of Hawaii (84 points), the University of Michigan (80 points), University of the Pacific (76 points), Arizona State University (71 points), the University of California-Santa Barbara (67 points), the University of California-Irvine (66 points) and the University of California-Davis (60 points) retain their positions from the Week 9/March 20 poll.

Long Beach State University (50 points) moves up to No. 12 with Loyola Marymount University (49 points) and Harvard University (48 points) acquiring the No. 13 and 14 slots.  Fresno State University (44 points), Wagner College (40 points), the University of California-San Diego (37 points) and Princeton University (36 points) adjust to rate at No. 15-to-18, respectively, with San Jose State University (28 points) and Marist College (23 points) remaining at No. 19 and 20.

San Diego State University (20 points), California State University-Northridge (15 points), Azusa Pacific University (9 points) and Bucknell University (8 points) take over at No. 21-to-24 with Indiana University (7 points) and California Baptist University (7 points) completing the Top 25 in a tie for the final spot.

2019 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 (Week 10/March 27)

Pomona-Pitzer Colleges continues to hold the top spot in the Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll.

The Sagehens (100 points) lead a Top 10 which experiences no changes in the Top Seven from the Week 9/March 20 balloting with California Lutheran University (95 points), Whittier College (90 points), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (84 points), the University of La Verne (78 points), the University of Redlands (74 points) and Chapman University (73 points) retaining their previous positions.

Macalester College (65 points) and Occidental College (59 points) exchange the No. 8 and 9 berths with Monmouth College (35 points) rounding out the Top 10.

2019 Women’s Varsity Collegiate Water Polo Association Top 10 (Week 10/March 27)

Defending Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Champion the University of Michigan remains a unanimous favorite to repeat as the Wolverines (100 points) again top the Women’s Varsity CWPA Top 10 Poll.

The league poll experiences no changes this week as Princeton University (95 points), Harvard University (90 points), Bucknell University (85 points), Brown University (80 points), George Washington University (75 points), Saint Francis University (70 points), Macalester College (65 points), Monmouth College (57 points) and Grove City College (47 points) continue at No. 2-to-10.

2019 Women’s Varsity Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Top 10 (Week 10/March 27)

Macalester College, which captured the 2017 and 2018 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Championships, retains its rating at No. 1 in the CWPA Division III Top Five Poll.

Macalester (100 points), which joined Grove City College (2010-2012) and Connecticut College (2013-2016) as the sole teams to ever claim the CWPA Division III league crown, remains a unanimous top pick as the Scots hold a six point lead over Monmouth College (94 points).

Grove City (90 points) falls back to No. 3 with Austin College (69 points) and Connecticut (64 points) completing the Top Five.
