PRINCETON, N.J. — Savanah Phillips has been hired as men and women’s water polo assistant coach at Princeton University.

“Coaching has always been my passion and it’s something I truly love doing,” said Phillips. “Thankfully, I got a lot of support from my parents and two older sisters. I am excited to continue growing and impacting lives through coaching at Princeton University.”

A native of San Diego, Calif., Phillips comes to Princeton from Wittenberg University where she was part of the lone varsity water polo team in the state of Ohio. She earned 2019 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III All-Conference First Team recognition and garnered a pair of Scholar-Athlete honors, while also earning Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-America honors in 2019 and 2020.  The two-time captain graduated with a bachelors’ degree in the Sport and Business Management in 2020.

Prior to transferring to Wittenberg, Philips competed at San Diego Mesa College where she secured two Most Valuable Player (MVP) and all-conference honors.

The new Princeton assistant coach started her coaching career at East County Aquatics, coaching all ages from 10-18 and under. She also spent time coaching at Grossmont and Serra High Schools.
