Brown University 2020 Women’s Water Polo Schedule

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Brown University women’s water polo will host the 2020 Bruno Classic, make its annual spring break trip to the state of California, and play six Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) regular season games as part of its 2020 spring schedule.

The Bears open the season on January 25 with match-ups against Iona College and Villanova University at Harvard University.

Brown then hosts the Bruno Classic from January 31-to-February 2, squaring off with Austin College (January 31), Siena College (January 31), Long Island University (February 1), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (February 1), Whittier College (February 2) and Wagner College (February 2). The three-day, 21-game tournament will feature three contests on January 31, 11 contests on February 1 and seven contests on February 2.

Following the Bruno Classic, the team plays at the Marist College Invitational on February 22 prior to taking part in the Harvard Invitational from March 7-8. At Harvard, the Bears will meet Salem University (March 7), Marist (March 7), LIU (March 8) and Iona (March 8).

After an off weekend, Brown heads to the state of California for a five-day, eight-game trip from March 21-25. During their time in the Golden State, the Bears will face Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (March 21), Chapman University (March 21), California Lutheran University (March 22), California State University-Northridge (March 22), Whittier (March 24), the University of La Verne (March 24), Concordia University (March 25) and Long Beach State University (March 25).

The Bears then return to the East Coast for a trio of games at Saint Francis University (Pa.) from March 28-29. While in Loretto, Pa., Brown will play the host Red Flash (March 28), Princeton University (March 28) and the University of Michigan (March 29).

Brown opens CWPA play with a pair of games at Princeton on April 4, taking on Michigan and George Washington University.

Bruno then competes in its first home games since the Bruno Classic with a league weekend from April 10-11. The Bears will host Bucknell University (April 10), Saint Francis (April 10), and Princeton (April 11) in CWPA play.

The Bears remain at home to close the regular season on April 18, hosting Harvard in their CWPA finale and Marist in a non-conference contest.

Brown will compete at the 2020 Collegiate Water Polo Association Championship from April 24-26 in Ann Arbor, Mich., at Michigan with the winner of the tournament claiming the league’s automatic berth into the National Collegiate Athletic Conference (NCAA) Championship field.
