BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the Week 2/September 29 Men’s Collegiate Club Top 20 and Division III Top 10 Polls for the 2022 season.

Released each week during the season, the Top 20 and Division III Top 10 polls have no bearing on qualifiers for either the National Collegiate Club Championship or the Division III Collegiate Club Championship.

2022 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 (Week 2)

The University of Michigan takes over at No. 1 as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the Week 2/September 29 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 rankings.

Michigan (93 points) edges out former No. 1 the University of California-San Diego (92 points) for the top spot a week after UC-San Diego dislodged Preseason No. 1/defending National Collegiate Club Champion Michigan State University.

Washington University in St. Louis (89 points), Michigan State (77 points), Pennsylvania State University (69 points), the University of California (63 points), the University of Texas (62 points), Florida State University (55 points) and Cornell University (46 points) round out the Top 10.

San Diego State University (42 points), Texas A&M University (42 points) and the University of Florida (42 points) are tied at No. 11, while the United States Military Academy (38 points) cracks the Top 20 at No. 14.

Boston College (33 points), the University of Colorado (31 points), the University of California-Santa Barbara (25 points) and the University of Southern California (14 points) rate at No. 15-to-18, respectively, with the University of California-Los Angeles (12 points) and the United States Naval Academy (12 points) tying at No. 19.

The 2022 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship will be decided in a yet to be disclosed site in the Northwest Division on Friday-Sunday, November 11-13.

2022 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 (Week 2)

Seven-time defending Division III Collegiate Club National Champion Washington University in St. Louis remains No. 1 in the Week 2/September 29 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 Poll.

The 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 Division III Collegiate Club Champion, Washington in St. Louis (100 points) is coming off a 2021 season in which the team finished third at the Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship. The Bears did not claim the Division III National Championship last year as the event was canceled due to a lack of pool availability on a Division III campus or in the community surrounding a campus.

The poll remains unchanged from the Week 1 voting with Grinnell College (91 points), New York University (90 points), Macalester College (82 points), Bowdoin College (79 points), the United States Coast Guard Academy (71 points), Colby College (68 points), Carnegie Mellon University (66 points), Tufts University (58 points) and the University of California-Santa Cruz (51 points) retaining their positions in the Top 10.
