2022 Women’s Atlantic Division Schedule
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2022 Women’s Collegiate Club Atlantic Division schedule.
Featuring Georgetown University, James Madison University, the University of Maryland, the University of North Carolina, the University of Virginia and Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech), the six-team division will compete in a pair of 12-game regular season tournaments at Maryland (February 12-13) and James Madison (February 19-20).
The regular season tournaments establish the seeding for the nine-game Atlantic Division Championship at Virginia on April 9-10 with the victor advancing to the 2022 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship at a site to be determined.
In the history of the division, James Madison (2005), Virginia (2016, 2017, 2019), Virginia Tech (2018) and former division member Duke University (2015) hold the six prior championship titles. Maryland (2002) and Virginia (2003) also hold previous Mid-Atlantic Division crowns as the Atlantic Division was created from the group in 2005, merged back into the Mid-Atlantic and was reformed prior to the 2015 season. A champion was crowned during either the 2020 or 2021 seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic terminating the completion and start of the campaigns, respectively.
