2022 Women’s Heartland Division Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2022 Women’s Collegiate Club Heartland Division schedule.

The smallest women’s collegiate club division with four members (Carleton College, Grinnell College, Knox College, Saint Olaf College), the quartet will contest a pair of eight-game tournaments in Northfield, Minn., at Saint Olaf (March 5-6) and Carleton (April 9-10) to establish the seeding for the Heartland Division Championship at Grinnell on April 23-24.  The victor of the tournament advances to the 2022 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship at a site to be determined.

In the history of the division, Carleton (2002, 2006, 2009, 2019) and Grinnell (2018) hold previous championships with former Heartland Division institutions Macalester College (1999, 2001, 2003, 2004), Wheaton College (2005), Lindenwood University (2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013), Illinois State University (2010) and Washington University in St. Louis (2014, 2015, 2016) combining for the other crowns since 1999.

A Heartland champion was not crowned during either the 2020 or 2021 seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic terminating completion and start of the campaigns, respectively.
