BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2023 Week 1/February 9 Women’s Collegiate Club Top 20 and Division III Top 10 Polls.
2023 Women’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 (Week 1/February 9)
Defending Women’s National Collegiate Club Champion the University of California stays at No. 1 by a single point in the 2023 Week 1/February 9 Women’s Collegiate Club Top 20 Poll.
California (97 points) – which knocked off the University of California-Santa Barbara by an 8-3 score at the Huntsville Aquatics Center in Huntsville, Ala., to capture the 2022 National Championship – is chased down by California Polytechnic State University (96 points) – which elected to not compete at the Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship last year – as the Mustangs pull within a point of tying the Golden Bears for the top spot.
The remainder of the Top 10 remains consistent as UC-Santa Barbara (88 points), the University of California-San Diego (85 points), the University of Michigan (84 points), Fresno State University (75 points), the University of Oregon (67 points), Texas A&M University (66 points), the University of Florida (56 points) and Boston College (52 points) hang on at No. 3-to-10, respectively.
Arizona State University (49 points) and the University of Southern California (45 points) stand at No. 11 and 12 once again, while the University of Notre Dame (38 points) breaks a tie with the University of California-Los Angeles (36 points) to claim sole possession of the No. 13 slot.
The University of California-Davis (35 points), San Diego State University (22 points), Grand Valley State University (21 points), the University of Central Florida (12 points), the University of Washington (6 points) and Michigan State University (5 points) wrap-up the Top 20 for the second time in 2023.

Behind UC-Santa Cruz (97 points), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (96 points), Washington University in St. Louis (92 points) and Middlebury College (85 points) hang on at No. 2-to-4.
Tufts University (77 points), Grinnell College (72 points), Saint Olaf College (69 points), the United States Coast Guard Academy (60 points) and Williams College (59 points) each move up one place to take over at No. 5-to-9, while Carleton College (39 points) cracks the Top 10 in the final spot.
