2024 Men’s Collegiate Club Texas Division Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases revisions to the 2024 Men’s Collegiate Club Texas Division schedule.

Due to Southern Methodist University informing the league office during the afternoon of Tuesday, September 24, of the team’s withdrawal from the 2024 season, the Texas Division changes to an 11-team format with Baylor University, Louisiana State University, Rice University, Texas A&M University “A”, Texas A&M University “B”, Texas State University, Texas Tech University, the University of Houston, the University of North Texas, the University of Texas “A” and the University of Texas “B”.

The absence of Southern Methodist causes the regular season and championship schedules to experience significant change as the opening weekend in Houston, Texas, at Rice on Saturday-Sunday, September 28-29, adjusts to a 21-game event.  Games during the weekend will use six-minute quarters with no overtime and teams limited to one timeout per half.

The Texas Tech tournament in Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday-Sunday, October 5-6, with Baylor, North Texas, Texas “A” and Texas “B” adjusts to a 10-game tournament, while the 13-game Texas A&M weekend in College Station, Texas, on Saturday-Sunday, October 12-13, with Texas A&M “A”, Texas A&M “B”, Louisiana State, Houston, Rice and Texas State experiences no changes.

The Texas Division Championship at Rice remains on Saturday-Sunday, November 2-3, to determine final placements in the group and the division’s representative for the 2024 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship on Friday-Sunday, November 8-10, at a site to be determined.

However, the schedule is updated to an 11-team, 17-game event with games during the Texas Division Championship utilizing six-minute quarters with sudden death overtime and teams limited to one timeout per half.
