BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Susan Palmentera-Reid (Jr., Chicago, Ill./Lane Tech) of Division III No. 5-ranked Augustana College totaled 43 saves, 11 steals and five assists during a 3-1 weekend for the Vikings at the Convergence Tournament to earn recognition as the March 9 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Defensive Player.
Competing at California State University-Fullerton in Fullerton, Calif., on Friday, March 6, she made seven saves, collected five steals and dished out an assist in a 13-6 defeat of Division III No. 10 the University of La Verne. Later in the day, she turned aside 13 shots, handed out an assist and corralled a steal in a 14-9 victory over Division III No. 8 Whittier College.
On Saturday, March 7, at Occidental College in Los Angeles, Calif., she made 10 saves in an 11-6 loss to Division III No. 3 California Lutheran University before stopping the host Tigers with 13 saves and two steals in a 12-8 win.
