BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Fordham University alumnus and former men’s water polo athlete Josh Itano appeared on the Just Go Grind with Josh Gordon podcast due to his status as Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of CareCar.
A supplemental benefit manager and market network platform for home care and medical transport headquartered in Newport Beach, Calif., CareCar is a technology and health services company that is redefining the non-emergency medical transportation sector with a new business model that pairs trained and dedicated drivers with patients who need a ride to medical appointments. Lack of transit access and deteriorating driving skills are significant barriers to care for many patients, particularly those who are aging and/or living with chronic health conditions. CareCar’s specially trained drivers provide service people can trust with their loved ones when they can’t be there to give transport them to an appointment themselves. The company partners with health plans to create healthier communities. Learn more at www.carecar.co.
Driven in part by his mantra, “Do well by doing good,” Itano has grown the company three times since its inception to create improved access to care for hundreds of thousands of people in need.
A Costa Mesa, Calif., native, Itano competed for only one season in the Bronx as the 2012 graduate with a degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Philosophy appeared in 28 games for Fordham in 2011. He netted 17 goals and 10 assists for 27 points with 10 steals and six blocks during his tenure as a Ram after sitting out the entire 2010 season. A transfer from Orange Coast College and a varsity water polo player and swimmer at Mater Dei High School in California, Itano garnered First Team All-League status and picked up Second Team All-CIF recognition in swimming during high school.
