BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Beatrice Hearey (Fr., Orinda, Calif./Miramonte) of No. 11-ranked Harvard University accounted for five goals and an assist during a 2-2 trip to California for the Crimson to take laurels as the March 23 Collegiate Water Polo Association Division I Rookie of the Week.
She inflicted the totality of her offensive damage at Division III No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges and Division III No. 1 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Wednesday, March 18. Facing CMS, Hearey posted two goals and an assist as the Crimson rolled over the Athenas by a 17-7 count. Taking on Pomona-Pitzer, she delivered three goals in an 18-5 victory.
Harvard concluded the week with losses at No. 3 the University of California-Los Angeles (15-4 L) and No. 9 the University of California-Irvine (12-10 L) on Saturday-Sunday, March 21-22.
