BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Jess Palmer-Sammons (Sr., Half Moon Bay, Calif/Half Moon Bay) of Division III No. 6-ranked Macalester College registered 10 goals, 15 steals and six ejections drawn during a 3-2 trip for the Scots in California to earn the March 23 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Player of the Week award.
She netted three goals with six steals in an 8-3 win at the California Institute of Technology on Thursday., March 19, before adding a pair of goals at Division III No. 7 Whittier College (7-5 W) and a steal at Division III No. 4 Chapman University (12-8 L) on Friday, March 20.
Palmer-Sammons wrapped up the week with four goals at Division III No. 10 the University of Redlands (7-6 W OT SD) – including a game-winning penalty shot with two seconds remaining in a sudden death overtime period – prior to notching a single score in a 19-3 loss at California State University-Fullerton on Saturday, March 21.
