BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalkeeper Lindsey Lucas (Sr., Orinda, Calif./Miramonte) of No. 12-ranked Princeton University posted 25 saves in wins versus No. 22 Wagner College and No. 18 Marist University to claim notice as the April 6 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week.

The most decorated athlete in the history of men’s and women’s collegiate water polo for weekly laurels from a league with 24 Defensive Player of the Week (2023 – January 30, February 13, February 27, March 20, April 3, April 10, May 15; 2024 – February 12, February 19 March 4, March 18, April 1, April 8, April 15, April 29, May 13; 2025 – January 27, March 10, April 7, April 14, April 21; 2026 – March 16; March 23, April 6) and four Rookie of the Week (2023 – January 30, February 27, May 1, May 15) awards for a total of 28 accolades, she surpassed the record of 25 (19 Defensive Player of the Week, two Rookie of the Week, four Player of the Week) weekly awards claimed by CWPA Hall of Fame member/Olympic gold medalist Ashleigh Johnson ’17 earlier this year.

Lucas racked up 13 stops in a 12-11 sudden death overtime win at home in DeNunzio Pool versus Wagner on Wednesday, April 1, before turning aside 12 shots in an 11-9 dispatching of Marist on Thursday, April 2, as the Tigers wrapped up the regular season with a 22-5 record.
