BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Saint Francis University goalkeeper Victoria Tamarit (Fr., Valencia, Spain/IES Conselleria) of Saint Francis University racked up 25 saves, 15 steals and a goal with an assist during a 3-0 Salem Invitational weekend hosted by Salem University in Bridgeport, W.Va., at the Bridge Sports Complex. For her performance, she is lauded as the March 30 Collegiate Water Polo Association Division I Defensive Player of the Week.
She turned aside six scoring tries, grabbed five steals and fired in a goal during an 18-3 victory over Mercyhurst University on Friday, March 27, prior to registering 10 saves, five seals and an assist in managing McKendree University on Saturday, March 28.
In the weekend finale versus Gannon University, Tamarit turned back nine shots and corralled five steals in helping SFU get by the Golden Knights, 13-7, on Sunday, March 29.
