University of Michigan Releases Expanded Schedule for 2018 Michigan Invitational on January 27-28

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Defending Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Champion the University of Michigan released an expanded schedule for the Michigan Invitational on Saturday-Sunday, January 27-28, as the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) joins the tournament field.

The Wolverines and Bruins will take on Wagner College, Marist College, University of the Pacific, Hartwick College and the New York Athletic Club (NYAC) as the tournament expands from the previously released 12-game slate to 14 contests.

Competition now begins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, as NYAC faces UCLA prior to the host Maize & Blue taking to the water for a clash with Wagner at 11:30 a.m.  Hartwick-vs.-Pacific (1:10 p.m.), Marist-vs.-UCLA (3:00 p.m.), Hartwick-vs.-Marist (5:00 p.m.), Wagner-vs.-Pacific (6:10 p.m.) lead up to one of the most highly anticipated early season meetings when Michigan takes on UCLA at 7:20 p.m. to close out the day.

The teams will return to the pool on Sunday, January 28, for the final seven games of the weekend as NYAC-vs.-Hartwick (8:00 a.m.), Michigan-vs.-Pacific (9:10 a.m.), UCLA-vs.-Wagner (10:20 a.m.), Michigan-vs.-Marist (12:50 p.m.), Wagner-vs.-Hartwick (2:00 p.m.), UCLA-vs.-Pacific (3:10 p.m.) and Marist-vs.-NYAC (4:20 p.m.) dot the docket.

For historical purposes, the games and all statistics against NYAC do not count towards the team record or individual records for either UCLA, Hartwick or Marist as the program is not a collegiate varsity team.
