BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Nicole Giblin (Sr., North Palm Beach, Fla./Suncoast Community) contributed eight goals, four assists, two steals and a pair of drawn ejections in 67 minutes of playing during a 4-0 weekend for the Wahoos to earn status as the February 21 Atlantic Division Player of the Week.
She aided Virginia’s cause in downing Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech), 9-4, to accompany victories over the University of North Carolina (19-7 W), the University of Maryland (9-2 W) and host James Madison University (14-3 W) on Saturday-Sunday, February 19-20 to wrap-up a perfect 8-0 regular season league mark.
The wins – combined with four victories on Saturday-Sunday, February 12-13, at the University of Maryland – clinched the No. 1 seed for Virginia at the upcoming Atlantic Division Championship at home in Charlottesville, Va., on Saturday-Sunday, April 9-10.
