MADISON, Wisc. — The University of Wisconsin seeks a full-time Coordinator of Aquatics with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2019.

Salary: Minimum $47,000 ANNUAL (12 months)/Depending on Qualifications

Degree and area of specialization: Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred) in recreation, sports administration, higher education, or related field.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience: A minimum of two (2) years of relevant aquatic and pool operations experience or combination of education and relevant experience.

License or Certificate: Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/ First Aid/ CPR & AED required. American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) are preferred.

Position Summary: The Coordinator of Aquatics is a full-time staff employee under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Aquatics. They are responsible for the administration of a comprehensive Aquatics program, which includes, but is not limited to, supervision of student lifeguards, swim meets, special events, and risk management protocols in multiple campus locations for the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Additionally, they will provide leadership to the program through conducting student trainings, facility scheduling, and budget planning. This individual works directly with professional and student staff to coordinate activities, independently assess problems, and develop solutions.
