BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Oliver Fodor (Fr., Budapest, Hungary/Szent István Gimnázium) of Wagner College recorded 12 goals, three assists, eight exclusions drawn and three steals during a 2-1 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC)-East Region weekend at home in the Spiro Sports Center to garner honors as the September 30 MAWPC Rookie of the Week.
A first-time conference weekly honoree, he aided his team’s cause in helping to down La Salle University on Saturday, September 28, by a 15-12 score. The Seahawks suffered a 14-8 defeat by 2017 and 2018 MAWPC Champion/No. 15-ranked George Washington University later in the day. On Sunday, September 29, Wagner topped Division III No. 9 Johns Hopkins University by a 20-13 final score.
To date, Fodor leads his team with 31 goals and 34 drawn exclusions in just 10 matches as an early-season injury sidelined him for four games.
