BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The 2021 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC)-East Region schedule is slated for release on Friday, December 4.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the programs of the MAWPC-East, MAWPC-West and Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) will merge into a three-prong MAWPC for one-year.

The MAWPC-East Southern Region will be comprised of Bucknell University, George Washington University, Johns Hopkins University and the United States Naval Academy, while the newly formed MAWPC-East Northern Region will be made up of Fordham University, La Salle University, Iona College and Wagner College.  Iona is the remaining active team from the NWPC as Brown University, Harvard University, Princeton University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and St Francis College Brooklyn elected not to compete during the Winter 2021 season.

The MAWPC-West Region will consist of Gannon University, McKendree University, Mercyhurst University, Salem University and Washington & Jefferson College and debuting first-year program Mount St. Mary’s University.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, several programs have elected not to compete as Connecticut College and Monmouth College, which both competed in the MAWPC-West last season, will sit-out this year.
