BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2025 Week 15/April 30 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.
In the aftermath of the conference championships, the National Top 25 and Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Top Five experience changes at the top with Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Champion Stanford University and CWPA Champion Harvard University climbing the rankings, respectively. Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Champion Pomona-Pitzer Colleges and CWPA Division III Champion Augustana College remain steady at No. 1 in the Division III Top 10 and CWPA Division III Top 5 polls.
Voted on by a panel of coaches from around the country based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls will be compiled and released on Wednesday during the season starting the Wednesday following the first regular season contest.
2025 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 15)
Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Champion Stanford University moves up to No. 1 in the Week 15/April 30 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll after claiming the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) crown over the weekend.
Stanford (100 points) – which stands as a unanimous No. 1 pick this week – breaks a tie with the University of Southern California from last week at No. 2 and surpasses the University of California-Los Angeles to rate as the uncontested best team in the nation heading into the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship next week in Indianapolis, Indiana.
UCLA (96 points) slips back to No. 2 with USC (90 points) descending to No. 3. The University of California (88 points) and Big West Champion the University of Hawaii (86 points) shatter at tie at No. 4 from last week to assume the No. 4 and 5 spots in the most recent voting, while Long Beach State University (80 points) and the University of California-Irvine (74 points) retain the No. 6 and 7 berths.
Golden Coast Conference Champion Loyola Marymount University (71 points) and Fresno State (66 points) exchange the No. 8 and 9 positions with the duo of Arizona State University (63 points) and Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Champion Harvard University (63 points) tying at No. 10.
Princeton University (54 points) drops to No. 12 with the University of California-San Diego (52 points), Indiana University (49 points), San Jose State University (44 points), the University of Michigan (40 points), the University of California-Davis (39 points), the University of California-Santa Barbara (30 points), Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Champion Wagner College (27 points) and University of the Pacific (25 points) rating at No. 12-to-20.
San Diego State University (20 points), Marist College (12 points) and previously unranked/Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) Champion McKendree University (11 points) stand at No. 21-to-23 with the trio of Brown University (5 points), Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (5 points) and previously unranked Bucknell University (5 points) tying at No. 24 to complete the Top 25.

Pomona-Pitzer (100 points) leads a Top 10 which experiences one change as Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (95 points) remains at No. 2 with California Lutheran University (88 points) and Chapman University (87 points) exchanging the No. 3 and 4 spots.
The University of La Verne (79 points), Occidental College (72 points), Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Champion Augustana College (70 points), Washington & Jefferson College (69 points), Macalester College (58 points) and Austin College (57 points) remain consistent with the Week 14/April 23 rankings.

The Crimson (98 points) – which knocked off 2000, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2023 and 2024 league champion Princeton University (97 points) by a 10-8 score in overtime at Brown University to claim the program’s inaugural Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) women’s water polo title over the weekend- leads a Top Five which experiences changes at four of the positions.
Princeton slips back to No. 2 with 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 league champion the University of Michigan (90 points) staying at No. 3 following a Third Place finish at the CWPA Championship.
Bucknell University (83 points) and Brown (82 points) trade the No. 4 and 5 positions in the wake of the Bison downing the host Bears during the league championship weekend.

Three-time CWPA Champion (2023, 2024, 2025) Augustana College (97 points) and Washington & Jefferson College (96 points) hang on at No. 1 and 2, while 2017, 2018 and 2019 CWPA Division III Champion Macalester College (90 points) and 2021 and 2022 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Champion Austin College (87 points) remain at No. 3 and 4.
Carthage College (80 points) completes the Top Five.
