BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Oriana Galasso (Fr., Gresham, Ore./Barlow) of Macalester College registered nine goals in a 3-0 weekend at Monmouth College to garner accolades as both the March 6 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Player and Rookie of the Week.
She opened the weekend with three goals in a 10-5 victory over the host Scots of Monmouth in a CWPA Division III league game prior to rifling in four markers to key Macalester past Carthage College, 10-9. In the concluding game of the weekend, Galasso chipped in two goals as her team topped Monmouth in a non-league game.
The awards mark the first weekly honors from the league office for Galasso during her intercollegiate career.
