BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Kyle Sandell (Sr., Mountain View, Calif./Los Altos) notched 15 goals, three assists, eight steals and three ejections drawn during a 2-1 weekend for Division III No. 8-ranked the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) at the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Eastern Championship. For his performance, he claims status as the October 25 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Player of the Week.
He opened the championship hosted by Connecticut College with a school record 10 goals in a 17-9 defeat of Augustana College. Sandell followed the performance with five goals in a 19-4 victory over Washington & Jefferson College prior to putting away three markers in an 11-10 sudden death overtime loss to Division III No. 5 Johns Hopkins University in the championship game.
